Kwara Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved the immediate renovation of the Rashidi Yekini Main-Bowl of the George Agbazika Innih Stadium, in line with identified requirements.
It would be recalled that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) representative was in the state last week, to inspect and identify areas of improvements on the facility, ahead of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), and most especially, the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary rounds.
Governor AbdulRazaq’s gesture was geared towards ensuring the state’s darling team begins it’s campaign in the continental competition at home in Ilorin.
In 2022, the team played all it’s home matches in the CAF Confederation Cup at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
As at the time of filing this report, contractors have already started preliminary works on the facility, especially the pitch, as Kwara United is expected to play its first match in the NPFL on Sunday August 24, 2025, at home, against Ikorodu City.
